Sunny Happy Skies Quilt

I've just finished this quilt using the very beautiful Sunny Happy Skies fabric line from Riley Blake Designs.

The quilt was made for a friend, for her little girl, she picked the design from photos I showed her from my all time favorite quilter blog http://www.cluckclucksew.com/ The design is based on this quilt http://www.cluckclucksew.com/2010/12/finished-sherbet-pips.html.

I used  42 x 10"squares and some bella solid in white and baby pink for the backing.  Using the 10" squares really helped save time cutting :-)

I used 100% Cotton wadding from Quilters Dream - Select loft, it's super soft, definitely my favorite so far.  I've quilted it in the ditch, still learning free motion I'm afraid !

Finished at about 11pm last night ! just in time to drop off to friend this morning !  I'm so pleased with it so bright and cheerful perfect for a toddler quilt :-)  The weather today is really grey and dull here but it is still managing to look nice and bright !
